Frequently Contacted About

Quick Answers to Common Questions

Do you ship outside Virginia?

Yes. We regularly ship reclaimed lumber throughout the East Coast via common carrier freight. We can also arrange nationwide shipping for larger orders. Contact us with your zip code and order details for a freight estimate.

What is your minimum order?

There is no minimum order for yard pickups. For deliveries within Hampton Roads, we have a 200 board foot minimum. For freight shipments, we recommend at least 500 board feet to keep per-unit shipping costs reasonable.

Can I hand-select my boards?

Absolutely. Walk-in customers are welcome to browse our yard and hand-pick individual boards, beams, and timbers. We encourage it — every piece of reclaimed wood is unique, and choosing your own material ensures you get exactly the character and grain you want.

Do you offer custom milling?

Yes. We can resaw, plane, tongue-and-groove, ship-lap, and custom profile reclaimed lumber to your specifications. Milling typically adds 3 to 5 business days to your order. Bring us your drawings or dimensions and we will quote the milling as part of your order.

How do I know if my wood is safe to use?

All lumber we sell is inspected for hazardous treatments including creosote, CCA, and pentachlorophenol. We maintain chain-of-custody documentation tracing each batch to its source structure. If you have reclaimed wood from another source and want it tested, we can recommend testing services.

Can reclaimed wood be used structurally?

Yes, with proper grading and documentation. Reclaimed timbers can be visually stress-graded or mechanically tested (MSR) for structural use. We work with certified lumber graders and can provide the documentation required by Virginia building codes for structural applications.
